My Philosophy in Parenting

I have been very blessed by some wonderful training and mentors through the years.  My philosophy has very much been influenced by some of the following programs:

Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI™) developed by the late Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross at the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. TBRI™ is an attachment-based intervention for families with children who have experienced trauma and/or maltreatment, including institutionalization, abuse, neglect, multiple caregivers or multiple foster placements. For more information, see www.child.tcu.edu.   My deepest appreciation for the years of mentoring, support and companionship to Drs. Purvis and Cross.  I would not be who I am today personally or professionally without you both!

The Nurturing Parenting Programs® developed by Stephen J. Bavolek, Ph.D. The Nurturing Parenting Programs are a family-centered initiative designed to build nurturing parenting skills as an alternative to abusive and neglecting parenting and child-rearing practices.  Many Thanks to The Parenting Center of Fort Worth and to Texas Consultant and Trainer Sonya Thorn for their training in this program

Attachment Parenting International (API) founded by Barbara Nicholson and Lysa Parker.  API promotes parenting practices that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents…For life. So they can take those bonds with them into their adult lives and share them with their children. And their children can do the same. A life cycle of compassion and connection. I have been so blessed to connect with this network of like-minded parents and professionals.
